Bhojudih is a bijou town located in the Chas subdivision of the Bokaro district in the Indian state of Jharkhand. This incredible place has been inhabited since the Mesolithic-Chalcolithic period. To know the importance and the richness of this wonderful city, just go through the cave paintings and the wonderful sculptures and carvings from the times of the Great Kings and the Queens. Apart from the ancestral arts, the stamps from the Kings to the British Rulers and the modern election of Independent India that led to the separation from the State of Bihar, Jharkhand enlists several hills and mountains, Holy River Of Ganga and the Sacred Temples that have the stories depicting the Gods and the Goddess.
When it comes to the hangouts, this mini spot is filled with the richness of cuisines which will never let you leave the place without having the taste of it. The aroma which starts from the kitchen corners stretches to the localities knocking the doors of hunger. Another unique feature to be noticed is the river. Most of the finest rivers flow through this glittering town and have the origin here as well. Jharkhand was a part of Magadha and Anga during 500 B.C. During that time Mahajanpadas ruled over the area. Magadha was once ruled by the powerful Kings during this period. This particular region was being ruled by many states during the Mauryan Period. These states were altogether referred to as Atavika (forest) states.
During the Second World War, the British troops had used this subdivision as their base to fight against the Japanese. They used to supply soldiers to the eastern front. Before Bokaro became the main district, Chas had major administrative headquarters to carry out all the economic activity. As time passed by, the headquarters were moved to Bokaro.
During the 16th century, the Mughals reached and soon fell under the East India Company by the 18th century. After Independence, this region became a part of Bihar.
When India gained freedom in the year 1947, the rulers started becoming dominant in every state. Initially, it was rejected by the leaders for many reasons. Separation would not only affect Bihar in terms of dialect and religion but also would break the economic status. This would lead to a large scale increase in poverty, illiteracy, and riots that would shake the entire nation. These continuous protests and movements led the political parties to pressurize the government to pass the act for the separation of Bihar into the emergence of a new state. The result of the protests proved to be fruitful when Jharkhand Area Autonomous Council (JAAC) bill came into being. A series of rejection and regression by the leaders of Bihar on the decision of the Union Government to pass the bill was on the verge. This happened in the year 1998. But in the end, political parties BJP, JMM, AJSU, and the Congress joined hands to form a separate State of Jharkhand. Finally, after all the ups and downs, the state of Jharkhand came into being with Mr. Babulal Marandi as the Chief Minister.
1. BHAIRAV STHAN is the holy place to visit undoubtedly. It is one of the most spectacular and unworldly places to come across. The atmosphere would not only bring a feeling of positivity to one's soul but also give a great vision to life that needs to be lived on happily. People perform religious rites and rituals in a small temple called Bhairav Baba. They worship him and believe that he would help them in all the difficult ways that come across. Meditating in such a calm atmosphere would bring a feeling of satisfaction and positive energy.
2. Bhairav Dham has turned into the most eye-catching tourist spot in recent years. The Bhairav Mahotsav that takes place every year invites tourists from all over the places. The festival is being celebrated for 2 days. The State Tourism takes up the charge of this grand Mahotsav. The spot has tight security during these 2 days. Strict surveillance is being carried out to prevent any hazards.
3. Pavitra Kund has perfectly clean water. Pavitra is "PURE" and Kund is "Pool". It is believed that Arjuna was the creator of the Kund. During the Dwapar Yug, he used his arrows during Pandvas Banwaas which led to the formation of the Pavitra Kund. It is found that the water level remains the same despite been flowing continuously. Even during the summer, in the scorching heat, the pool doesn't dry up and the water level remains constant. The temperature during the summers is said to be 53°F to 101°F.
The staple diet that can be seen here is Dal, Vegetable, and Rice. The people here prefer vegetables more than non-veg. They cook food most traditionally. The food is being prepared in earthen pots which adds fine taste and flavor. It is also believed that cooking in earthen pots doesn't lose the nutritive value of the food. The food prepared is less spicy. The most striking feature is that there are edible mushrooms that are being harvested during the rainy season. Rudra and Putoo are those edible mushrooms that people eat. They also eat bamboo shoots as vegetables. Another cuisine that needs to be tried is the sweet pan where most men go for it.
You won't be able to trace regular flights to this route. Ranchi Airport is the nearest to reach Bhojudih. Bhojudih is 118kms away from Ranchi Airport and 198 km away from Gaya Airport. The easiest way to reach the destination is by train. There is a railway station named Bhojudih. Traveling by road is yet another sound option to reach this wonderful destination. There is a regular bus to Dhanbad which is 17 km away from the source.
In Bhojudih, the rainy season is mood spoiling whether to travel to. Mostly, the place is hot almost year-round. The best time of the year to explore all the places in the summer where you can relax and plan accordingly. Although the trip will finish within a day, so make sure that the mood is not spoilt because of the spoilt weather.
