The last settlement that was found by him was named as Kulant Peeth. He then settled and mediated at the place that has now turned into Manali. Kulan Peeth was later devolved into Kulut, before being called with its current name “Kullu.”

 

Kullu is a religiously significant town as well. It finds its mentions in Ramayana, the Puranas, and Mahabharata. In the old times, both Buddhism and Hinduism existed here in full harmony.
