The sister ridge of Rama Jhula, this bridge is built in the honour of the two brothers. The legends say that this is the place where Lakshmana, the younger brother of Lord Rama crossed the river Ganga with just two jute rope. To honour his feat, a 284 feet bridge made up of just jute ropes named Lakhman in the 1889, post which a iron bridge took its place in 1929.
Connecting the Tehri and Pauri districts, if you peer over the railings you can see the endless Ganges surrounded with steep cliffs and dense forest line on the backs. A deeply spiritual experience, many people just stand one the bridge for the understanding of peace.
