Langvir Nritya is a prominent dance form of Tehri Garhwal, performed mainly by the men of that region. What makes it unique is the acrobatic form which facilitates the use of a bamboo pole glued at one place. The dancer or acrobat elevates the top of pole and showcase the balancing tricks with pride. The acrobat climbs and use his stomach to balance perfectly. Other feature of the dance act includes skilful spinning with the help of hands and feet. Meanwhile, the soothing beats of traditional folk music and instruments, such as Dhol and Damau, adds enthralling effect to the entire performance. Langvir Nritya is widely acclaimed in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand because of its primitive origin. }
