Overview



Beas Kund Trek is one of the most impressive short treks whose magic begins right from the Solang Valley in Himachal Pradesh. This trekking excursion is recommended for experienced as well as amateur trekkers as the track is of moderate level and is enjoyable too. Throughout this trek, trekkers will witness gigantic trees and pretty Beas River tumbling in tiny streams, creating a real fairy tale vibe. Your Beas Kund trek will be full of amazing landscapes due to verdant green meadows, glaciers and snow-capped mountain peaks adorning the route. All the way trekking through Dhundi and Bakarthach, the trail reaches the origin of the River Beas from where you enter the Beas Kund Glacier.

Historical references to the trek

According to Hindu mythology, the name Beas came into origin by common tradition associated with the noted saint Vashishtha. The region is also supposed to be connected with the Pandavas, who spent some time in exile here. You will even see the Shangchool Mahadev temple and the Dev Dhank temple in this area linked with the Pandavas.

According to another legend, the great sage Vyas did his tapa in this valley, at a place knowns as Vyas Kund during the Mahabharata period. Thus, the river Vipasha got the title of Beas river.

About the Journey

Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival at Manali

Upon arrival at Manali, our tour representative will transfer you to the hotel. Spend the day to get acclimatized. You can also do activities like paragliding, rappelling, cable car ride, etc.

Overnight stay at camp.

Day 2 : Manali to Dhundi via Solang Valley

After breakfast, you will drive towards Solang Valley. On reaching there, you will start your real adventure. Start trekking to Dhundi by crossing the mesmerizing Solang valley. You will trail 8 km path that has a gradual incline and offers the sight of Hanuman Tibba.

The trek further is a beautiful journey surrounded by dense oak and walnut forests as well as towering fir trees. Land at Dhundi.

Enjoy a scenic stroll around this serene village with the Beas River flowing near it and forested hills bordering the river's banks.

Duration: Around 4 hrs

Day 3 : Trek Dhundi to Beas Kund and back to Dhundi

After early morning breakfast, take a long and gradual ascent through the mountains. You will view appealing panoramas once you reach the viewpoint. At the highest ranges, you can observe some amount of snow too.

Finally, you will arrive at your main destination, a small alpine lake called Beas Kund that thas sparkling blue water. Unwind around the lake encompassed by vibrant purple wildflowers for a while and take photos of the picturesque scenes.

After spending some quality time at the lake, hike down to go back to Dhundi.

Day 4 : Trek Dhundi to Salong Valley, drive back to Manali

Complete your trekking tour by going downhill. Reach Solang Valley, from where our tour representative will transfer you to Manali. Board the train back to home with forever memories.
