Overview:
Khatling glacier is a lateral glacier, at the source of river Bhilangana. According to mythology a celestial nymph tried to lure Lord Shiva, while the almighty was at his meditation. He spurned her and she was dissolved into liquid form, thus originating the Bhilangana River. Nature has bestowed her beauty on the valley of river Bhilangana in abundance. The rich pasture lands are ideal camping sites available here.The Khatling Glacier is set up with the huge hanging glaciers of Ratangian, Jogin and Phating. The moraines on the sides of glaciers look like standing walls of gravel and mud.

Itinerary
- Drive from Rishikesh to Ghuttu- Ghansali, abot 160 km in Tehri Garhwal district.
- Visit through the Major Tehri Dam, the highest rockfilled dam of asia.
- Spent overnight here in lodges or hotels.
- Leave Ghuttu after early breakfast with packed lunch.
- Steep climb of 10 km, Dinner and overnight in tent colony run by Garhwal Manda Vikas Nigam, or in camps.
- Very steep climb for today, so have a healthy breakfast and start early.
- Enjoy the majestic sight view through the different elevations.
- Dinner and overnight in tent

- Gangi - Kalyani [2,683m, 5 km] - Biroda [2,744m, 2 km]
- Kharsali [2,896m, 8 km] - Pachari [2,896m. 0.5 km]
- Steep and strenuous trek follow to be . On the way one can trek to Tamakund [3,415m] from where Khatling Glacier is 3 km.
- Overnight in caves or camps Pachari - Naumuti [2,957m,,1.5 km]]
- Along and around the Glacier to the magnificent hanging.
- Glacier of Ratangian, Jogin group and KirtiStambh, etc. Overnight in camps at Khatling glacier.
- Return trek, explore the location and meet local people in between.
- Return trek, overview some Garhwali culture, buy some local products if possible.
