Overview
Masar Tal lies in the most astounding remote region of Garhwal Himalayas at an height of 4,139 m above main sea level. It is just below Masar Top on Doodhganga river left bank. This untouched majestic nature welcomes you on this adventurous journey to explore the mountains, grasslands, pristine holy Lakes and the glaciers.
Reach Khatling Glacier via Tambakund and go through the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary. This area also has mythical stories, the myth related to Shiva and Parvati. Stories from Mahabharata are also here.

Itinerary
Day 1 : Dehradun to Uttarkashi (178 km) (6 hours)
- Drive from Dehradun to Uttarkashi, 178 km, through Muaaoorie, Tehri, Chamba.
- Tehri Lake or Dam can be seen enroute.
- Stay overnight in hotel.
Day 2 : Drive from Uttarkashi to Malla (25 km) and trek to Sillachan (9 km) (6 hours)
- Have breakfast and leave for Malla about 25 km.
- Have your lunch there and start your trek for Sillachan.
- Explore the location and spent overnight in camps.
Day 3 : Sillachan to Kushkalayni (11 km) (6 hours)
- Reach the ravishing meadows and setup camps here for overnight, in Kushkalyani, after 11 km of trek.
- Overnight in camp.
Day 4 : Kushkalayni to Kyarki Khal (14 km) (6 hours)
- Today the trek to Khyari Khal is an exciting because the undulating meadows, cascading waterfalls and scenic sights will leave you gazing at nature’s beauty.
- Overnight in camp.
Day 5 : Kyarki Khal to Pari Tal (18 km) (7 hours)
- From Khyari khal trek to the Kyari Bugyal, passing through the beautiful dense forest and reach Pari Tal.
- Overnight in campsite.
Day 6 : Pari Tal to Sahastral (12 km) (6 hours)
- Sahastral is 12 km away from Pari Tal and the picturesque trail is through Taddiudyar.
- Overnight camp.
Day 7 : Pari Tal to Sahastral (12 km) (6 hours)
- The long trek of today is waiting for you about 16 km.
- Kalyani lies amid mountains and an embankment is visible another side. It is a wide meadow great or best for camping, stay overnight here.
Day 8 : Kalyani to Kharsoli (11 km) (5 hours)
- Kharsoli, Bhinglana’s confluence and a large green meadows.
- Dinner and overnight here.
Day 9 : Kharsoli to Tambakund (8 km) (5 hours)
- Explore the Tambakund, the fresh water soure, with beautiful glimpse of nature.
- Overnight stay here.
Day 10 : Tambakund to Khatling Glacier and return (3 km) (4 hours)
- Get up early today because trek to Khalting is strenuous, steep climbing take much time.
- Explore the glacier for some time and return to Tambakund back for overnight stay.
Day 11 : Tambakund to Masar Tal (6 km) (3 hours)
- Post breakfast and head towards Masar Tal.
- Witness Doodhganga which falls down from the glacier and looks like milk.
- On arrival, you will find that Masar Tal lies in remote region and is in picturesque artistic setting.
- Setup camps here for overnight.
Day 12 : Masar Tal to Vasuki Tal (15 km) (6 hours)
- Today precede your trek towards Mayali Pass, and reach Vasuki Tal, overnight here can be passed in camps.
Day 13 : Vasuki Tal to Kedarnath (6 km) (3/4 hours)
- Decends to the Kedarnath for today explore this beautiful valley and pray in temple.
- Overnight in guest house or camps.
Day 14 : Kedarnath to Gauri Kund (14 km) (4/5 hours)
- Get to the Gaurikund, and have a hot bath in Hot spring water to remove tiredness of trek.
- Explore the town, and overnight in hotel or lodegs.
Day 15 : Gauri Kund to Dehradun (8/9 hours)
- Drive to Dehradoon, this will end up your journey.
