Historical reference to Satopanth Lake trek

It is also considered as a sacred place to the pilgrims because it is said that, on the day of Ekadashi, Lord Vishnu took bathe in this lake. This is the only place where all the Hindu Gods assemble. This is a triangular-shaped water-body with clear green water. The perimeter is about 1KM.

The Hindus believe that the three vertices of the lake are the part of the holy trinity, Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwar (Lord Shiva). People believe that the three creators of this Universe (according to the Hindu religion) meditated on the three corners of the lake. So, this place has got great significance from the religious and spiritual point of view. Taking bathe in it on the 11 days of Solar and Lunar fortnight is considered extremely auspicious.

Apart from the Mythological significance, it is also popular among the adventurous trekkers. Since this is near the sacred Badrinath town, it has become a famous spot both for tourists and the pilgrims. Being located amidst the Garwal region, the lake of clear water offers an unforgettable scenic beauty around.
