Behold the eternal presence of Lord Narayan
The holy presence of the Panch Shilas has made Badrikashrama synonym with heaven on earth. The sheer bliss of seeking the blessings of the Shila where Lord Narayana resides eternally is out of this world. Located between the Narad Kund and the Tapta Kunda, the Narada Shila is highly valued and treasured for having the ability to bless the worshipers with righteousness and holiness.
This black conical rock has an interesting history that will leave you mystified. Devarshi Narada, now known as a spiritually well-versed travelling musician and storyteller was a dedicated devout of Lord Vishnu. Due to Narada Muni’s intensive penance in the form of meditation on this very rock, Lord Narayana accompanied by Lakshmi Devi gave their mighty blessings to him. Overwhelmed by this, his devotion towards Lord Vishnu amplified twofold. Narad asked Lord Narayan to bless him with everlasting devotion and never to leave the rock. He asked him to create a Tirtha capable of absolving the sins of all. Narayan blessed him. A bath in this holy Tirtha by a devotee of Vishnu is capable of removing all his sins and helping him live a life filled with heavenly blessings and peace.
The Naradapancharatra was written at this very Shila. Also known as the messenger of Gods, Devarshi Narad is a pure and elevated soul who blesses the devotees with spiritual enlightenment and peaceful life, making their visit to Badrinath fulfilling and gratifying.
